In terms of equipment, the new Hanway Raw 125 SR Chrome sets the bar higher in the Vintage Café Racer category with exclusive, premium quality components: Racing inverted fork, 17-inch anodized aluminum spoke rims, disc brakes on both axles with a powerful 300 mm on the front and dual-piston caliper, LED taillight, low Racing half handlebars, low-profile sport tires, stainless steel megaphone exhaust and complete instrumentation gathered in a backlit LCD display clock (speedometer, lap counter and fuel level graphics, gear indicator and totalizer/partial kilometers).

Hanway is making presentations this week, after the unveiling of the new Scrambler 125, the Chinese brand presents the new Raw 125 SR Chrome, a new version of the chameleon-like Raw 125. Based on the 10.2 HP single cylinder mechanics that can also be found in the Scrambler 125, the Chinese firm has modified the Raw’s aesthetics to offer a more modern look.

Numerous aesthetic details have been revised, to offer a lighter and more modern image, such as the new flat seat, now thinner and with flat trim, and of course, the fuel tank, of classic appearance that now appears chrome, which gives its name to the bike.

The fenders have been minimized and both frame and mechanics are blacked out, with virtually no metallic elements. The other new features are the disc brakes on both wheels, with a diameter of 300 mm and dual-piston calipers in the case of the front wheel, which are 17-inch aluminum, LED rear optics, low handlebars and low profile tires. The exhaust is of the megaphone type in stainless steel finish.

The mechanical change brings a significant increase of almost one and a half horsepower (from 8.8 to 10.2 hp) and the same in Nm of torque (from 8.5 to 10 Nm). These changes had already been applied on the Scrambler model and will soon be adapted to the Euro 4 emissions directive with electronic injection and combined braking.

The suspensions are each in their own way. The upside down fork works very well with a correct setting and good stiffness, especially when it comes to getting all the power to the 300 mm of the front disc. On the other hand, the rear shock absorbers, with double-pitch springs, show a harder setting that cannot be softened even in the softest position.

The front end is virtually the same as the Raw Café Racer only with a different tire size and a somewhat minimalist fender. The front disc measures 300 mm in diameter with its corresponding dual-piston caliper.

The gearshift has an articulated tip, a very offroad detail that already premiered the Scrambler and that will come in handy if the stand is collected unintentionally. Round rubber footpegs without spring recovery are new.
